10.1 - Lots of fun....
After vowing not to make another DreZone album, The DreZone returns after a 3 years solo absence from which, he has appeared in various forms and guises - however, "10.1" is a return to his multi-instrumental roots.
In true DreZone fashion, he plays all instruments that are heard but this time round, has re-enlisted the help of former collaborator John O'Neill (sic "Tales From The Funky Jam Suite"), to play Tenor, Alto saxophones and/or flutes on all 10 tracks.
The album is The DreZone's Jazz/funk/rock homage to an array of influential artistes he has absorbed over the years - and the melody for the title track was written when The DreZone was just 8 years old (a snippet from the original recording is heard at the end of 9.1).
"10.1" showcases his abilities as keyboard player, guitarist, drummer, bass player - but purposely no vocals... the album introduces his custom-built 'drebox' Talkbox, designed and constructed by The DreZone and his father
This album bears more than a passing nod to among others: Madhouse, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock and one of The DreZone's UK heroes - Matt Cooper (at the time of writing, is collaborating on the new Incognito album).
A hard-hitting Club album this is not. This is simply a one-man jam session for all to enjoy - exploring New Directions In Vintage Music.
