Randolph Michael Howes, M.D., Ph.D. is the inventor of the triple lumen venous catheter credited with helping save the lives of over twenty million critically ill patients worldwide. A recipient of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale's national award for Unsung Heroes (Versatility).

First to receive double board eligibility in general and plastic surgery in a six year interval at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital. First in history of Tulane Medical School to receive double doctorate degrees in Medicine and Biochemistry simultaneously.

A recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the Community Mayors of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, sworn in by Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Currently, Dean of the Louisiana University of Medical Sciences.
