Album Notes

The Dr. Orphyus Project is currently a one-man entity with a musical focus ranging from extreme death metal to jazz. With as varied of influences as Mr. Bungle and Agoraphobic Nosebleed, it is not surprising that The Dr. Orphyus Project takes such a schizophrenic approach.
The band as a whole is the brainchild of Ryan Morris. His ultimate goal is to create unique and original music that incorporates his numerous influences as well as numerous instrumental disciplines. In the past, this has been referred to as Death Jazz, a title that is still applicable today.
The Dr. Orphyus Project has recently completed work on its first full-length album, Opaque Imagery. A completely solo production and performance, Opaque Imagery showcases the eclectic nature of The Dr. Orphyus Project without straying so far as to be un-relatable to any audience.
Ryan is now focusing on promoting Opaque Imagery and getting it distributed to the masses. Also, work has begun on a new project as well as a live show. Conceptually, the show will be a unique experience for concertgoers. It will combine live playing, recordings, video, and theatrics. This escape from tradition continues The Dr. Orphyus Project’s tendency to combine known elements to create the unknown.
