Composer Scott Seely sent the score of "Flight Of The Asp" to Dr. Phillip Rehfeldt in 1984.
In 1986 he received a reply saying that Dr. Rehfeldt and Scott Vance would perform the piece as a world premier on January 5th,1986.
The performance was recorded live but it was rerecorded on January 31,1986 and remastered by Scott Vance in August 2004.
Dr. Phillip Rehfeldt's performances include the International Clarinet and ClariNetwork conferences ,the Schoenberg Institute, the 1980 ISCM in Israel and recording of "New Music for Clarinet and Friend", by composer Barney Childs.
He has recorded over seventy five works on Advance,Desto,Grenadilla and Zanja labels.
His publications include New Direction for Clarinet, Playing Woodwind Instruments and the Etudes for the Twenty-First-Century Clarinetist.
Scott Vance in curently the Audio Technical Director for the University of Redlands where he teaches courses in music technology.
He has developed several electro acoustic instruments and has written discriptions of Optrix, a synthesizer played by pointing to interactive graphics on a computer screen.
He has engineer credits on CRI, Advance, New World and Rastascan labels.
