Dr. Sheila L. Johnson has a diverse musical background. In addition to being the founder of “Dr. Sheila L. Johnson and Young People for Christ”, she has worked with some of the best gospel artist known in the United States. Dr. Johnson is the host of “Time of Restoration” gospel music television show in Pittsburgh, PA, (Pittsburgh is one of the top 20 television markets in the United States of America.) Dr. Johnson is a former member of the national faculty of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA), appeared on “Bobby Jones Gospel” (BET) several times, former national board member of the Gospel Music Educators' Seminar (GMES), director of the Citywide Youth Choir of the Pittsburgh and Vicinity Baptist Ministers Conference Revival, workshop clinician throughout the USA and West Indies, her original compositions were sung at the National Musical of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education and at the National Musical of the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention, she was a soloist at the National Musical of the NAACP National Convention , past director of Western Kentucky University Gospel Choir “Amazing Tones of Joy” and currently serves as the minister of music at First Baptist Church Penn Hills located in Pittsburgh, PA in the USA.

Her songs have captivated audiences throughout the USA and the West Indies. She is a gospel artist who writes and performs in the diverse musical gospel genres which include hip hop, rap, Jazz, praise and worship, Pentecostal praise, Latin, Negro Spiritual, and Urban gospel to name a few. Her professional career in higher education in the United States spans several colleges and universities where she has held faculty and or administrative positions. She is a graduate with a bachelors and masters degree from Western Kentucky University and has an earned Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
