Wonderful work from a master artist at his peak
In my iTunes review I wrote that this is an album that moves across genres effortlessly. True, but insufficient. Subterranean is clearly a product of enormous effort. Those countless hours in the studio made it possible for Richard Drueding to create the appearance of effortlessness without at all seeming blase or cavalier. His music spans several generations and a variety of cultures. Each tune can stand well on its own, but listening to the entire work allows the listener to experience a glimmer of what it must be like to be in his subterranean world of wonderful sounds.
