Drunken Starfighter is a four piece multi cultural reggae dub collective conceived in the silicon valley of California. In 2001 the band solidified through mutual love of late 70's early 80's Jamaican dub artists such as King Tubby, Roots Radics, and the Scientist.
Starting from practice amps in a small room in one of the band members' house. Drunken Starfighter began booking shows around the San Francisco Bay Area. Naturally word got out about their unique sound and conscious lyrics opening doors for Drunken Starfighter to open for top national reggae artists such as Eek-A-Mouse, The Specials, and Bay Area hip-hop legends Digital Underground. They soon arranged a monthly local reggae and hip-hop showcase titled Rasta's and Bitches, which was a hit at the club Wave's Smokehouse in San Jose California.
In spring of 2003 Drunken Starfighter stepped into the studio to record an eight-song album, recording six of the eight songs at Final Mix Studios in Campbell, California with Jerry (Da Hermit) Dalalo of the group Insolence and Don Budd behind the mixing board and two tracks recorded at their home studio in Santa Clara, California. The band knew that they were on to something organic and original.
Drunken Starfighter's self-titled album was releaseed in the summer of 2003. It is their mission to enlighten minds with their rock-steady dub sound and thought provoking lyrics. This new blend of musical diversity, displayed by their different cultural and gender backgrounds is the bands staple sound that has captivated an equally diverse audience throughout the Bay Area and abroad.

The instrumentals are flawless, vocals fit the band to a T, and the occational sample from Star Wars really hits the spot when mixed with some grade A dub.
A "must own" for any reggae/dub fan.
