New Orleans singer/songwriter/composer, Lynn Drury, released "All You Need," on June 27th, 2006. This is a 219 Records release produced by Drury and James Mathus and her fourth record to date. A mature release that combines her Delta Mississippi roots with the funkiness of the Big Easy. Drury's was the last record to be recorded at Delta Recording Studios before they had to tear it all down and move to Como, MS. With Jimbo Mathus playing guitar, Wurlitzer, dobro, and mandolin. And with the help of local luminaries Paul Taylor, drums; Justin Showah, bass; Bryan Ledford, accordion & banjo; and New Orleans pedal steel player, Dave Easley. This record finds her sound at home and sippin' on a little go-go juice.

I followed the trail of Roberto Luti's slide guitar playing, and discovered Lynn Drury by mistake. What a lucky mistake!
Lynn has a nice full voice and lots of soul in her music, and I can feel those Blues roots and the New Orleans air in her playing and singing.

I stumbled in to Tarantula Arms in New Orleans, a little bar on the edge of the Quarter. Lynn was playing with only her guitarist, Roberto Luti. She's even better live, singing cuts from all of her recordings along with a few great covers. She's got a quick wit as well which only added to the fun. Buy her music....it's from the heart. You won't be disappointed.
