Album Notes

Druu is back in action with Mechanoid, his third release on LoFREEQ Recordings.

His biggest and best collection yet, Mechanoid features enough hard-edged Breaks for you to film your very own Kung Fu flick, Drum ‘n Bass tracks for breaking the speed limit, 4-on-the-floor Techno bangers to get your head bobbing and body shaking, and a pair of butt-kicking remixes by Fevertech and Redshirt Theory.

Even before being released, songs from Mechanoid had already been used to pump up the soundtracks to various television shows and indie films, including ‘Supercross Preview Show’ on CBS, ‘Combat Zone’ on the Discovery Channel and Military Channel, ‘LA Forensics’ on Court TV and UKTV-People, ‘Blue Carpet Special: Community Project’ on Fuel TV, ‘TGO: The Formula’ from No Fear Films and the X-Dance Film Festival's Best Soundtrack nominated motocross film ‘Rhythm & Blitz’. Also, listen for Redshirt Theory's remix of "You Can't Touch Me" in the Powderwhore Telemark ski film 'The Pact'.

You can also find songs from Mechanoid as well as Druu’s other releases in the soundtracks to the shows at Bite Me TV on the web.

HUMANIZED TECHNODRIVE!
author: JG Wolfensberger

Mechanoid is perfectly packaged and aptly named. Druu's latest tracks are unapologetically synthesized, finely tuned, and engineered like polished, slightly menacing machines, but always with the touch of human ingenuity and plenty of class. In your earbuds, this album will motivate you to speed walk, or to push out extra reps in the gym. In the car, you'd better set your cruise control to a respectable speed or you'll find yourself creeping past 70, 80, 90 without even realizing it. The techno-industrial leads and riffs are like the rush of adrenaline. The beats are relentless without being tiresome. Druu always maintains momentum without wearing you slam out. At low volume, the sound is sophisticated, a perfect backdrop for friends and drinks - and eventually your friends will say, "This sounds awesome, what is it? Turn it up!" At high volume, those same clever, meticulous beats sound dangerous, and the leads stutter and scream. Lots of machine noises along the way for the sci-fi set, and plenty of melody for the dancefloor. It's all just friggin' cool.
