ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Following the release of their highly successful, Texas Blues Project Vol. 1 Fort Worth Artists, longtime friends and bandmates Jim Ashworth and Bryan Freeze embarked on a year long studio project, focused on producing their 2nd Blues CD....
Texas Blues Project Vol. 2.
The result is a collection of 12 all new, original songs penned by Ashworth and Freeze, with the help of "Texas Bluesman" Buddy Whittington on two. Buddy also adds his masterful guitar licks on 8 tracks, as well as 4 lead vocals. "Mouse" Mayes also makes repeat appearances on 3 songs in addition to B-3 maestro "Red" Young.
New to the roster are Dave Millsap, Mace Maben, and "Dirt" Stinnett on guitars and introducing vocalist Gerald Lawrence on two in addition to Danny Ross on keys, Glen Rothstein on sax, and Mike Gage on Drums.
Also back from Vol. 1 are good friend Lee Pickens, Bobby Counts, Mike Kennedy, Gary Grammer, Jerry Hancock, Danny Hubbard, and Charlie Bassham.
It appears that Dr. Wu'.... along with the help of all of their multi- talented Friends, has managed to surpass the magic of Vol. 1 and has taken Texas Blues Project Vol. 2 to the next level of "Bluesdom".

Dr. Wu' Does it Again
Dr. Wu' does indeed have friends. Very tallented Bluesmen friends. They really pulled it off again with this second CD. Volume two features several tracks with Buddy Whittington on vocals as well as his lightning blues guitar riffs. Charlie Bassham is back with his great blues vocals as well. The lyrics tell some great stories such as the tragic story of how lives can be changed at the blink of an eye on "Bryant Irvin Road."
My hat's off to Dr Wu' and friends. I hope you've started volume three because it wont take long to wear this one out just like the first.

You should make an appointment with Dr. Wu'!
Dr. Wu' & Friends - Vol.2
Jim Ashworth & Bryan Freeze aka "Dr. Wu'" with the 2nd volume of their "Texas Blues" Project. If you like Vol.1 than this disc should be a must have. If you don't: Hurry up to get you a copy of Vol.1 & 2! You will not regret it!

Again Dr. Wu brought together a bunch of great musicians from Texas, mostly from the Fort Worth area and again they did a very good job. On the album are 12 songs all written by Jim & Bryan with a little help from Buddy Whittington on 2 songs. And Buddy is a good friend cause he is playing his great guitar on 9 from 12 songs. Some friends are new on this CD a lot of others are on Vol.1, too. I can't name 'em all but new on this CD are Dave Millsap, Mike Gage, and "Dirt" Stinnett. Well known from Vol.1 are Mouse Mayes, Danny Hubbard, Charlie Bassham, Jerry Hancock and Gary Grammar, and Lee Pickens, and...

Tragically Mace Maben who is part of Vol.2 passed away after the recordings. So did Stephen Bruton after the first Dr. Wu' album. Bryan & Jim wrote a wonderful dedication to Stephen called "Slow' Rollin Train" (see YouTube). R.I.P., Stephen & Mace!

The CD is well produced sounds great and comes in a nicely packaged digipak with booklet. Any lover of Blues music with a good dose of Rock should make an appointment with Dr. Wu'!

Wu' 2 you!

CD review
"The second record is always a milestone, especially because it is polite to outshine the previous material. This succeeded: the CD is enjoyable all the way through and it contains outstanding things from musical point of view, furthermore it is full with better and better songs, which don't bore the listener for even one minute. We can scarcely wish for more!" (Blues van - www.bluesvan.hu)
