Album Notes

Although the musical partnership of reedman Dave Schiavone and pianist Joe Brancato goes back over two decades, the current edition of the quartet has been performing together since 1997. The group prides itself on performing an eclectic mix of mainstream jazz, arranged standards, and original cutting-edge compositions by both Schiavone and Brancato.

Rounding out the group on drums is Peggy Scalzo, and bass duties are split between "Buddy" Fadale and Gil Pease. The quartet can be heard in a variety of settings, from intimate clubs to concert stages, performing selections from an extensive playlist and from their debut CD "Hidden Treasures."

I hired these artists as a trio to play at my wife's birthday party and everyone who attended loved their music. This CD is great to listen to while reading a book and its a big value because it plays for 70 minutes. I wish they had another CD available.

The sounds and rythms of "Hidden Treasures" really makes me want to dance. The melodies remind me of someone who is in love and is expressing themselves through poems and lyics.

With all the production in music in 21st century America; the traditional quartet format was really refreshing. Involved enough to take make you think, but not a full time job listening. Save some material for another CD! (Bonita's Dreams) Thanks for your efforts, they get me through many a mile!
