Dave Snyderman has been crafting songs for about 10 years now. His style and way with words sets him apart as one of todays most talented songwriters. He is the type of artist and songcrafter that draws you in until suddenly you are a part of the song. I have heard many people say from time to time that they have never heard it put that way. "Gospel" is one of those songs. There are lines in there that burn down all the BS and get you to think in plane terms about what we are actually able to accomplish as human beings, if we just shine.
Some of the songs on the CD were written on a rather long journey from southwest Florida to Fairbanks Alaska after seperating from the US Army. So if you notice that some of the tracks are just Daves' intriguing voice and unique arpeggiating guitar style that is because that is how they were composed and how we felt they would sound best. Dave once told me "When you write a song with your back up against some wall in a strange city, or down by a river, with just you and your guitar, and you feel that oneness with everythig, there aint much you could do to improve on it." "Sunday Morning Days Gone Bye" and "Garden of God" are great examples of that type of creating on this CD.
"John Barleycorn", "Keep Commin Back" and "The Resentment Song" are all tributes to the effectivness of any 12 step program of recovery. I will just say that Dave earned his seat, and he takes life one day at a time. His heart to include these tracks is to be helpful in some way to those in recovery. He told me that the worst feeling he knows, is that feeling that you are all alone. His hope is to heal that feeling with these songs.
Dave is currently in Alaska and is constantly creating new music. He plays out at some of the local clubs in the Winter, but His favorite gigs are in the parks and on the street corners during the summer. he is a big believer in First Amendment Vendors rights and does his part to remind people that we have them. He calls Alaska home because of the way he feels when he is there. Then again, he has also told me recently that somethin is callin him, that he feels like he might be out on the road again soon. Where ever he is you will recognize his passion and his style if you see him, He is truely one of a kind.
