About D. Soeryoputro & The Contemporary Parts
People call him "D". Dimas Soeryoputro -pronounced as "dee-must"- is a composer, musician, artist, performer, and a guitarist.
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Dimas has involved with music since young. He is a composer of many kinds of acts, and collaborates with other musicians in many musical projects. Currently resided in Wellington, New Zealand, he also does overseas recording for artists throughout the globe, involved in audio processing and of course continues in producing his music.
He released 2 albums in the line of smooth jazz - fusion. He formed a group named “co-P” (Contemporary-Parts) in 2001 and the album "Blue Lines" was released in 2002. It consists of 10 tracks of song which 8 out of all those 10 tracks were composed by D himself.
In October 2005, he released his solo album titled “Night of the Southern Star”. Consists a total of eight songs, this album is a mix between smooth jazz and fusion. Unlike his previous album, songs within “Night of the Southern Star” are based on a story which was made by D himself. And apparently, the story will continue to his next album, as the story hasn't finished yet. He is currently recording his next solo album as the sequel (should we say) of the “Night of the Southern Star” as the journey continues…
