Daniel Severin Rafn’s first proper album, Vocals, took eight years to conceive, compose and painstakingly record. The time spent shows in every gorgeous melody, crafty synth texture and enveloping arrangement. Miraculously, Daniel has managed to deliver his sophomore effort, The Wayfarer, in less than five years!
But this is no rush job. We here at Warble feel you will be hard-pressed to find much adventurous pop music that is this careful in all the right ways. Gorgeous layers of varied electronic and acoustic instruments, rich vocal polyphonies, it’s all here. The twist this time out is the striking neo-Medieval influence. Here’s to the tortoise and not the hare!
Physical album also includes a data disc with lyrics, pictures and an extra song.
