Dave Sterling wrote his first two songs at age five, and has been writing piano music and performing ever since. Growing up in Texas, Dave was classically trained on the piano, but also developed an appreciation for the varied sounds of jazz, rock, and country. The result of these influences can be heard in Dave’s music – beautiful melodies supported with a high-energy style of playing. His music has been featured in concerts, dance performances, and promotional materials for several organizations. Dave has performed with world-class musicians, and as traveled throughout Europe, performing in several countries.
Dave writes and performs all of his own music, which is inspired by the many people and places that have been part of his life. From strangers on the back roads of Europe, to family and friends near and far, a multitude of influences have contributed to his compositions.
Dave’s first studio recording, Tomorrow, received outstanding reviews from many in the music community; “Outstanding”, and “Awesome CD” were typical comments.
Dave recently completed his next CD, Along the Curve. Like his prior recordings, Along the Curve features all-original material, including some of Dave’s most beautiful melodies, such as “The Offering” and “Stephanie’s Lullaby”.
Dave is also working with noted Dallas arranger, composer, and conductor Steve Bayless, having several of his compositions transcribed for orchestra. All of these songs are available for performance with piano and symphonic groups of any size.
Dave occasionally performs to enthusiastic crowds in numerous venues around Dallas, Texas, where he lives with his wife and two dogs.

Incredible
author: Patricia Zubritski
Incredible. If you haven't visited his website and started reading the story behind the songs I would like to suggest you stop by. When I first heard David play I was amazed at the fluidity. The seemingly effortless way his fingers danced across the keyboard. I then came to realize I was listening to original tunes. I am left incredibly touched and amazed. The tempo changes flow which is not an easy thing when you realize what type of tempo and style he combines. The music is magical and has personal meaning to everyone who listens. All of his songs have energy but many of the songs seem to have a life of their own. It's as if the notes are simply felt rather than heard. There is incredible talent, energy and spirit combined to make this a cd to remember.

Road to Freedom
author: William Bulham
When I first heard Dave perform "Road to Freedom" live, after the concert, I asked him what the title of that song was. He said, "Melody in D Minor...it doesn't have a title yet." I then suggested that he title it, "Shanghai General" because as I was listening to it, the fast rhythmic passages in the beginning, along with the D Minor chord progressions that follow that have an Asianesque feel to them reminded me of the hustle and bustle of an emergency room in a Chinese hospital, not that I've ever been in a Chinese hospital mind you! I then mentioned that I could imagine this song being played as the opening theme of a Chinese television drama, a "Chinese ER" if you will. Dave just looked at me and said, "Yeah,...great Bob."
No matter what the title, listen to it, along with the other great tracks on this CD and see what you think.

Adult Contemporary Piano that ROCKS
author: Steve Brandt
David Sterling's latest CD is a testimony to his creative style, his innate musicality, and his flair for catchy, entertaining and memorable melodies. His variety of songs take you from a relaxing afternoon lying in the quiet grass with your lover (When Lisa Smiles) to the fun-filled pub with your pals (Beer and a picture), and to the pulse-pounding spirit of honor in a hard fought battle (Men of Honor). David has captured his heart and soul in his songs and you WILL want to play them over and over. Don't miss it.

Music that you feel.
author: Lori Ricker
This musician can play and arrange like nobody's business. He has talent, that's obivous. But, the range of emotion that he affects when you listen to his music is raw. You feel the artists soul when you listen to his music. It doesn't hurt that he also provides some insight as to what inspired the writing of each song. He does so by including a snipit of information with each song. Buy the CD and you'll never stop listening. Even my 3 year old loves this CD!
