My family visited Canada this year for a family vacation. We saw Dan the Music Man perform. I was simply amazed. I don't know who loved him more the kids or parents. The songs were original and wonderful to listen too. He had all of us up on our feet dancing along to his songs. All children should see Dan or have one of his CDs.

Some of the most uplifting highly energetic children's music I have heard!

You will start off tapping your toe, snapping your fingers then, clapping your hands and finally before you know it you will be dancing the day away. I speak from experience having had this happen to me at one Dan's performances during Week of the Child.
Make a Bridge has some of the most uplifting highly energetic children's music I have heard. The songs have creative fun lyrics that involve everyone who listens. I know children that bath with Dan's CD playing in the bathroom, children that play it while they're going to sleep. I have a friend who listens to Make a Bridge in the car whether her children are with her or not.
Make a Bridge is the kind of music that energizes you on rainy days or during those grey days of winter. Make a Bridge is a CD that should be added to music collections in child care centres, schools and homes.

Daycares and kindergarten classrooms will find it a good pick-me-upper.

Dan the Music Man (a.k.a Dan Devion) is a Toronto musician who discovered well into his career his flare for entertaining young audiences. Since that epiphany in 1991, he's been playing and singing for families, day cares and schools in Ontario and has now released his debut album for young audiences: Make a Bridge. Devion has poured everything into this project - he wrote all of the songs himself, plays all the instruments, and even built a recording studio with a partner. Sometimes, that spells disaster as recordings lack the creative synergy that results from a collaboration of diverse talents. But in Devion's case, the album turned out to be a good reflection of his own strengths as an energetic performer. The music is generic pop with inventive and fun lyrics that involve listeners and lend themselves easily to gestures, games or singing along. We particularly liked "Dance Freeze", "Back to Back" and "Hello". Make a Bridge is a good start to what will probably be a long career in recording for families. Daycares and kindergarten classrooms will find it a good pick-me-upper.
