notes
Duluth Does Dylan attempts to shed light on the tremendous music scene in this cold port town. As a tribute to Bob Dylan, it is also hoped that the listener will gain insight into the roots of one of the world's greatest songwriters.
Maybe it's Duluth's long winters and mountains of snow, the decaying industry or the steep hill that flows to Lake Superior that inspires this motivated music community. Holed up in aging brick buildings, basements and warehouses, these artists speak with honesty and humility.
The bands on Duluth Does Dylan all create original music in their own way. They each fit a niche, representing the fans that crowd into the small clubs and bars of Duluth.
ARTISTs:
Mayfly, Giljunko, Gild, Father Hennepin, Both, Black Eyed Snakes, Crazy Betty, The First Ladies, Ballyhoo, The Dames, American Hip, The Black Labels, Jamie Ness, Accidental Porn, Low

Great CD
author: Kathy BI usually only like to hear Dylan doing Dylan, but Duluth Does Dylan in a truly interesting and enjoyable way. Great CD!
Outstanding CD!
author: Nancy MillerUsually, I am a snob when it comes to hearing music by the original artists, however this CD and the first Bob Dylan tribute for his birthday by various artists, just blew me away. I not only heard his music performed in a new creative way while keeping to the original intentions of the song, I got a chance to see what up-and-coming musicians are all about. A few years younger than Dylan myself, I have been craving more exposure to what the younger set are up too these days. Surprised and overjoyed are the adjectives I give to discovering the new musicians, and their creative interpretation of one of the musical geniousess of the century, Bob Dylan, on this CD.
Undeservedly obscure!
author: LynneI found the online samples as a Low fan, then fell in love with the Mayfly cover & knew I couldn't stop there.... I've enjoyed all the tracks, with the Black Labels sleazy & slurred Rainy Day Women the coolest dicovery!
Duluth rocks Dylan's Words
author: Eppy SeppianenGreat CD captures the words of Dylan with the musical talent in and around Duluth.
Great compilation. A refreshing take on some true classics!
author: Eric BaillyMy local indie radio station, Radio 1190 out of Boulder, plays the Low version of Blowing in the Wind quite frequently. After hearing the entire compilation, I'm thinking the station should give some of the other tracks some airtime. Well worth the money I spent.
