Album Notes

The Dundies is the product of four multi-instrumentalists from Jacksonville, Florida. Pulling inspiration from bands such as The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, and Monsters of Folk, They strive for a unique feel to their music. Because of this diversity they have developed an exclusive Folk-Rock sound.

Coal Mine Canary carries a diverse and powerful statement. The songs are full of energy, tension, and beauty; raw but lovely, lush but stripped. It stresses The Dundies' folk-rock song craft, but it also captures the kind of jamming and improvising that happens when musicians become keenly tuned to one another. "We wanted this album to be a reaction against soulless rubbish while implementing hope to the hopeless."

Every member in The Dundies challenge themselves to play every instrument on stage, an aspect of their performance that keeps their stage show interesting. Between their acoustic melodies and rocking full band sound, The Dundies keep the crowd leaning in. Their songs are trips to a place where you remain in the moment. Their stories ask us to consider the joy of being alive and to pick up our end of the thread that binds us all together. If your looking for something different, fun to watch and hear, check out The Dundies.

Not sure what to call this stuff but I'll start with "genius"

The Dundies are one of the most unique bands in the Southeastern United States. You can't really pin down their sound - it's kind of folk but that's not really it. It's kind of like Western music but it has the Appilachian sound, yet it's pop and quirky. It's singable fun. The band, uses non-convential pop instruments and wonderful rhythm and vocals. One of my favorites.

The best whole album I've bought in a while. Catchy tunes with singable lyrics make The Dundies my new favorite band. My favorite is Get In Line.
