Album Notes

We are all full of it at one time or another. Or at least that's the way dMg sees it from his porcelain throne. If music is therapeutic then dMg is like a psychiatric session set to music. His Charma Recordz debut Obnoxious Vanity Project is a concoction of revolutionary Hip Hop with a dose of Rock and Roll angst and a splash of Techno.

Born in New York, dMg was spawned from an emcee that became frustrated with his life and the politics of the music business. He's been a founding member of three Hip Hop groups (Nasty Boyz, Cesspull and a Hip Hop influenced Rock group Alice Kramden). All of which disbanded prior to any real success. dMg took some time off to deal with his issues (poverty & parenthood) and has crawled out of his obscurity to gain his title as the "Conscious Clown Prince of Hip Hop."

He teamed up with super producer (some beg to differ) Taquan at 12 Rounds of Music and prepared a diabolically honest sonic journey into the bowels of his soul. He has been compared to Gil Scott Heron, Chuck D, Guru and Q-Tip. However, he aligns himself with his favorite's OL' Dirty and Angelo Moore of Fishbone.

If you're the type that appreciates the D.I.Y ethic of some of the greatest renaissance artists (M.F. Doom, MC Paul Barman, Jedi Mind Tricks, Cannibal Ox and others) you will hail this divergent force in music.
