The pub is crowded and the ale flows from the taps. The room is filled with conversation and laughter, and a Celtic band is jammed into the corner, pounding out foot-thumping rhythms. Over the din comes the clink of glasses as the band leads the entire crowd in the cheers of a traditional Celtic toast..."Sociable!

Unquestionably Winnipeg's finest and most prolific Celtic troubadours since their formation in 1992, the Dust Rhinos have grown into something of a tradition. They've filled prairie pubs, clubs and festivals with their high spirited and vivacious brand of Celtic rock, developing a large and loyal core of fans across Manitoba and beyond. What they bring is a vibrant mixture of past and present. Besides an impressive repertoire of traditional favorites, the Rhinos have found an authentic Celtic voices as songwriters as well, penning a significant portion of their songs, which quickly become every bit as loved as the traditional tunes.

    This is one of my all time favourite albums in our CD collection (400 strong and growing). My husband loves the Jedi Drinking Song and my favourite is a cover of Dear Prudence. I prefer this version to the Beatles. I definitely couldn't live without this album and neither should you. My only complaint is that the Dust Rhinos should venture out to Alberta to teach this province what a good Celtic bar band sounds like! :) Keep up the great work and keep bringing out the Guinness!

    I bought this CD for "Jedi Drinking Song", and found myself loving the whole disk! very good stuff. Celtic and drinking songs, how can you go wrong?

    First heard this band at the local pub with my friends. By the second set, I was so in love with the music I went and bought their CDs! Now it's impossible to seperate me from my copy of Got Guinness!

    So many good songs on here. The first 6 or so keep rockin'. I bought all 3 CD's recently and find myself singing 'Black Velvet Band', 'Sailing With The Captain', & 'Jedi Drinking Song' in my head. Celtic Night & Rhino's Jig awesome as well. Buy this CD now! Buy at least 'Sociable' too if you don't buy all three.

    A friend turned me on to The Dust Rhinos and I finally got my butt on line and purchased a CD. The CD is great! It reminds me of classic Irish folk with a rock influence ala The Pogues. The CD definitely makes me want a pint o the good stuff!

    Surfin’ the net one day looking for music to play on one of the radio shows I host or guest-host at a local community sponsored station, I found a reference to a “butt kickin” celtic band from the Peg. This is definitely good time music. And I would wager a pint of the good stuff that a live show would be a superior experience. My favs: Jedi Drinking Song, Wild Mountain Thyme, & Sailor Song (When I told you I loved you I was drunk, but I meant it anyway!)

    A great find, I can not stop playing this CD - Loud. I call them a great Celtic-Pub-Band. I would put them in the same group as Great Big Sea, The Pouges and Kilt. I plan on ordering all of their CD's now. A great group. I can not waite to see them live.

    I am so glad I stumbled onto this cd! The band reminds me of the Pouges and brings a smile to my face everytime. The Jedi drinking song is clearly one of my new favorites, send the muppet over, we are ready for our test!!

    What can I say. Sailing With the Captain and Jedi Drinking Song are great laughs, their version of Black Velvet Band and Wild Mountain Thyme are also very good. And Celtic Night is one of those happy little tunes that just get stuck inside your head. In short I love everything on this CD.

    The Dust Rhinos are loud, boot stomping, beer chugging, fun! This is NOT your father's celtic band! Prepare to laugh your butt off with the Jedi drinking song, and stomp a hole in the floor with the rest of the songs! There's not a lemon on this CD!     A beautiful mixture of traditional irish and original music. I've been singing Got Guinness and the Jedi Drinking song since I received them. Never knew they existed until I just happend to click on their name. What a find.
