Album Notes

From bucking apartheid in South Africa, introducing the Motown Sound to Europe, duetting with Jimi Hendrix on her TV show, to adding her warm vocals to the cool of the Pet Shop Boys and bringing the perfect mood to "Pulp Fiction," Dusty Springfield added class to whatever material she performed.

Hers is a voice for all time. Hers is a voice of continuing power and inspiration to today's top artists.

While breast cancer took Dusty's life on March 2, 1999, the timeless legacy of this Rock and Roll Hall of Famer lives on for millions of fans and fellow musicians.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of "Forever Dusty" benefits breast cancer support organizations.

"Forever Dusty" features new recordings - unavailable anywhere else - of Dusty Springfield classics by some of today's most innovative women artists.

The artists are among the cutting-edge of contemporary popular music. Many are well established within their genres. Others are expected to emerge as significant forces.

These are the women who are mainstays at all the big festivals and concert halls - from Lilith, Newport, Winterhawk, Telluride, Bumbershoot, Kerrville, and Merle Fest to The Bottom Line, Club Passim, Tin Angel, Birchmere, Cat's Cradle, Bluebird Café, Eddie's Attic, Mucky Duck, Troubadour, Freight & Salvage, Great American Music Hall, Tractor Tavern, etc.

The music consists of time-tested songs by writers with substantial critical and popular acclaim--writers responsible for multiple millions of record sales.

With these songs, artists and the Dusty magic, "Forever Dusty" is a powerful tribute.
