Dusty Leer : Hey! It's Me!

Sonorous baritone voice on ballads that can make the whole room vibrate on the low notes. He has been compared to Utah Phillips at times, at others to two drunks in a mouth fight. Whatever he does, it does entertain.

Album Notes

Born in 1937, Dusty has been kicking around the west coast, from Portland Oregon to the Mexican border, since the 50's pickin and singin. He played the Sunset Strip in LA, and the Grant Avenue Coffeehouses of San Francisco in the "Beatnik" era of the 50's and San Francisco and Marin County in the 60's and 70's.

After a hiatus of 15 years, he started playing and writing again. The music in this album ranges from tunes written in the 60's to a couple that are barely out of swaddling cloths.

He writes in all genre and is currently playing occasionally in Southern California. He opened for The John Lee Hooker Blues band on its 2004 California tour.

His low notes can vibrate your ribcage. Dusty only cuts "Live" recordings for his CD's. His feeling is that Live is what you get. If there is a small bobble now and then that's the reality. Studio work is fine, but most times "It ain't the truth".

The collection in this album has a wide spectrum from Folk (Filk Song) through Country to Blues.

Enjoy.
