Album Notes

D'vora is a published and award-winning SINGER'S SONGWRITER who enjoys writing about everyday observances as well as more universal commentaries on love and life.
COMFORTABLE COMPANY is her second album of original songs, and features 9 different carefully and lovingly chosen singers and 12 musicians, each giving a very special interpretation and talent to her creations, making for a very listenable variety of voices and instrumentation. D'vora has won awards in many song-writing competitions, including the William E. Oliver contest (songs which best express the forward spirit of our times), the Woody Guthrie Festival of Songs (Talking Hayfever Blues, track 6), the Julian Bluegrass Festival (Julian Mountain High, track 4). Her topical songs have appeared in New York's Broadside magazine, Scholastic Books, and the Sierra Club Survival Songbook (Once There Was, track 10), among others.

a delightful journey of musical variety
author: Steve Durfee, Bard Chord, L.A. Songmakers publication
Close your eyes and take this delightful journey of musical variety, but hold on tight- it's an eventful trip! one minute you are comfortably home with a cat- next you're whisked to the Mediterranean, then a hoe-down, and through the worlds of ragtime, blues, talking blues, comedy, waltz, calypso and more. The scenery along the way includes family, tributes, relationships, and life itself, expressed with heavenly harmonies, enchanting instrumentals, and tasteful arrangements. What a grand voyage!
