Album Notes

JOPLIN, MO a new acoustic CD of songs by David Williams in the Americana vein: folk, old-timey, gospel, rockabilly, country. These songs (which trace some of the same characters and territory of David's soon to be released book- INDIAN BINGO - award winning short stories through Ghost Road Press)--tell the stories of David's original homeland of Joplin, MO, where his family has lived for generations. These songs are performed on guitar, four & five-string banjo, fiddle, mandolin, steel guitar, standup-up bass, and clarinet, and many feature the phenomenal singer, DARCY PEREZ (who has been described as a cross between Gillian Welch and Natalie Merchant with a touch of Nora Jones). Other world class musicians who appear on the album are Duane Webster, Julia Hays, Bill Pontarelli, & Jax Delaguerre.
