Album Notes

Danny Weiss leads the Danny Weiss Quartet, a combo performing weekly in West Lafayette, Indiana, his home for the past 10 years. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Weiss has also lived and worked Chicago and New York performing with a variety of musicians in venues ranging from Broadway pits to basement jazz clubs. He is interested in all forms of music and has performed in many Latin and Caribbean bands (merengue, cumbia, salsa, and ska) as well as Motown (with the Temptations) and Jewish folk music (with Yid Vicious). Weiss is married to Felicia Roberts, a professor at Purdue University, and has two talented cats: Blackie and Monk.

Weiss is also a lecturer in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University. He has taught both Jazz History and Music Theory. Weiss holds a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University–Bloomington.
