Album Notes

The epitome of generosity when it comes to giving a fine performance, with a quirky poetic style that verges on satirical folk (rap). The bard (Dylan Owen) earned his apprenticeship by playing in many low life, dodgy bands and continues to be small fry in a vast ocean of talent. Nevertheless in the small rock pool there is no bigger oyster.
The cd 'Bard of Oswaldtwistle' is a collection of well crafted songs showing a mastery of lyrics and melodies that allow the listener to laugh and then shed a tear. The songs are underpinned by fine picking styles with smart vocals and demanding harmonies.

The album presents a rich landscape of material ranging from the Sharpesque chaos;of ‘The SAGA Club King,’ ‘Learning from Experience’ and ‘Jargon Man’ through to the tragic and poignant verse of ‘Fallen of the Day’,‘Whinney Hill’ and ‘Face the Issue.’
