ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Since their formation in 2003, Martinsburg, West Virginia's Dysfigure have developed into one of the heaviest underground metal bands in the Mid-Atlantic. Their confrontational sound contains a healthy dose of metal, propelled by speed and death metal-inspired drumming, thrash riffs and leads, gut-wrenching vocals, and earth-shattering bass lines. The music features extended instrumental passages with complex rhythmic changes and blistering guitar work, as well as bone-crushing breakdowns that have ignited mosh pits throughout the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic region.

Dysfigure has gained attention by tackling subject matter ranging from daily personal issues to larger universal and social themes. The band poses tough questions and even tougher answers, unapologetically calling for individual responsibility, confrontational introspection, and taking a stand for one's beliefs.

In 2006, Dysfigure went into the studio to record their debut album. The album, called "In the Shadows of Deception" was released in summer 2007. The album captures the band's explosive live sound and powerful message. The band also gained several endorsement deals and began expanding its touring throughout the East Coast/Mid-Atlantic region. The band's aggressive sound hinges on its knowledge of metal genres of extreme, thrash, hardcore, and death/grind, and its ability to blend these various styles with ease.

As Dysfigure's touring schedule has increased, the band has consistently captured the ears of new fans along the way. In the spring of 2011, Dysfigure went into the studio to record their highly anticipated follow up to their debut album. Working with producer, Todd Stotler, at his studio, Echoes Recording Studio, i Sharpsburg, MD. They put all their emotions, blood, sweat, and tears from gigging and touring for the last 4 years into this album. From going from nothing to something in their hometown and local scene, they decided to rightfully name this album Ashes To Existence.
