The Northwestern United States has always had a music scene vibrant with creativity and unrivaled talent. From Jimi Hendrix to Queensryche and Heart and, later, the 90's explosion with the likes of Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and others, Seattle in particular has been a hotbed of activity since the '60's.

Modern rockers Dysinformation plan to continue the tradition of bringing worldwide noteriety to their hometown. Forming from the ashes of the band Milestone, drummer Chris Womble set about putting together a tight unit that would meet his musical expectations. A chance meeting with singer Pete Mainzer, who had enjoyed some regional and European success with previous bands and guitarist, Andy Beech (a former guitar tech for Zakk Wylde who has also built guitars for Prince as well as Wylde) set him on the right path. Hooking up with bassist Rob McPhaden in mid 2004 put all the pieces into place.

Eschewing the traditional formula of playing the local club scene until they were blue in the face, Dysinformation set to writing songs for their self titled debut album immediately. With their collective roots in hard rock and heavy metal the quartet took those elements and applied modern rock techniques to their writing approach. The resulting nine songs display a technical yet simplistic element throughout, broadening their appeal to several generations worth of music lovers.

With an album's worth of material at the ready and a game plan in place, Dysinformation settled on their name after several options were thrown around since “we went through a ton of disinformation in order to make all of this work, relates Mainzer. "And when it finally happened....it was magic, we just clicked. We knew it was right." Kicking off the album is "Die Alone", which tells the tale of a drinking buddy of Mainzer who had passed away: "When I phoned the daughter of an elderly friend of mine who had died I was told that she didnt have time to deal with it so I took it upon myself to make arrangements. His ashes now sit on my fireplace mantle." With "So Young", the band takes on modern day parenting techniques and how they don't seem to be working so well and "Take It All In" is a reflection of the peaceful nature of the wilderness. Dysinformation takes the classic rock anthem "Born To Be Wild" and gives it a modern spin. The disc ends with the blistering "Suicide Machine" (written "for the sole purpose of ripping your face off" says Womble).

A chance meeting with motorcycle daredevil Robbie Knievel at Pete's local watering hole led to a friendship, which in turn led to Mainzer being asked to be a part of 'Knievel's Wild Ride', Robbie's A&E reality television series. Adopting the identity of "Rocker Pete" he became an integral part of Team Knievel and one of the most popular and recognizable members of the show. "Being part of Team Knievel and doing the TV show has been a great experience and a fantastic vehicle for the band", says the frontman. "In just a few short weeks we managed to put Dysinformation in front of millions of people and I know it's going to pay off in the long run."
