Album Notes

A record label executive stands on the balcony of his penthouse overlooking the city.
As he gazes thru a pair of binoculars, he suddenly comes across an unfamiliar building. He adjusts his focus towards a window and inside he sees a man surrounded by equipment in what appears to be a studio. As he looks a little closer he sees that the man is mixing something together and he is able to make out the labels. He sees that half the formula he is mixing is labeled "E" and contains speed, skills, style, and is rough. He then sees that the other half is labeled "R" and consists of flavor, energy, charisma and flow. As the formula is completed and the elements are combined, the executive looks on knowing that with the ingredients they contain such a combination would be unstoppable. This is the formula ECO & RICANA bring to the game. This is E&R.

ECO & RICANA are two mc's with different styles brought together by the same love and passion, their determination to make it in the rap game. ECO (Ernest Christopher Ortiz) was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and has been flowing and writing since the age of 13. Armed with an ability to freestyle his goal has always been to become one of raps elite. RICANA, who was born and raised in Puerto Rico, came to the U.S. in 1995 at the age of 14 and has been rapping ever since. Influenced by hip-hop and reggaeton (spanish rap), he has a unique style and flow that separates him from any other rapper in the game.

The birth of E&R as a group took place in early 2002. The two came together to do a collaboration on a track that was to appear on RICANA's first album. The combination worked so well that they decided to cut short their solo careers, and come together to form the rap duo now known as E&R.

E&R is poised and ready to take their music to the next level. Writing and producing their own material independently, they bring a unique sound to the game. With the rough lyrics and delivery of ECO, and the smooth flow and style of RICANA, they manage to combine their skills to create a sound that is sure to get you bouncing.

E&R has come a long way with even more to come in the near future. After staying underground for some time now to work on their music, they have re-surfaced and are now working around the clock promoting their first independently released EP AJust The Beginning@.
