Album Notes

At the age of 11 Earl began his professional music journey singing with the renowned Newark Boys Chorus. Having attended this highly acclaimed boys chorus school through junior high, Earl acquired a life long commitment to his love for music. Early exposure to diverse musical styles established his appreciation for all music ranging from classical to Jazz, with many stops in between! Performance highlights of the Boys chorus includes: international tours, television performances, and a nationally aired Kraft Foods TV commercial featuring Earl. Concert Hall performances include Lincoln Center, (Avery Fisher Hall Dedication), the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Carnegie Hall and others. These concert hall performances were often led by world famous choral conductors including, Leonard Bernstein, Robert Shaw, Peter Schickley (PDQBach) and others. After these wonder years, Earl continued developing his music skills participating in local and regional High School and community talent shows. Instrumental in the formation of his High School chorus, Earl functioned as student conductor receiving many accolades for his directorship and the high standards for which the choir became known. With vocal and piano training remaining high priority, Earl enrolled as a student at the Newark Community School of Performing Arts, participating regularly in musical stage productions and vocal recitals at the Newark Symphony Hall. While attending Lebanon Valley College, Earl continued vocal training with various instructors. As a member of the Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir, Earl traveled extensively through out the US on an annual music tour performing a wide range of classical and popular choral works. As featured soloist for the Concert Choir’s "Negro Spiritual" repertoire, Earl delivered powerful performances regarded by many as a concert highlight. To this day, spirituals remain among his personal favorites. Combining his unique musical style and creativity, Earl easily transitioned into the role of singer / songwriter. After performing as a studio session vocalist for a while, Earl refocused his efforts solely on writing and building an impressive catalogue of original songs. Carving out a pathway of his own, Earl’s uniqueness continued to emerge and easily take shape. In his music you can hear the obvious influence of many genres, including Gospel, R&B, Pop and Jazz as performed by artists like Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Baby Face, Tony, Toni, Tone, Mint- Condition, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Lionel Richie, James Taylor, Michael McDonald, Michael Franks, Andre’ Crouch, Richard Smallwood, The Hawkins Family and more. Influences from other musical giants includes; Quincy Jones, Patti Austin, Maysa & Incognito, Basia, Phil Perry, Will Downing, George Duke, The Brand New Heavies and others. Collectively, Earl has put together an impressive catalogue of songs ranging from R&B Ballads, light Jazz adult contemporary tracks, and always remaining true to his roots, some up lifting inspirational/gospel tracksl! His music comes with guaranteed satisfaction even for the most discriminating ear! Currently, Earl is continuing with vocal studies at the Settlement Music School of Philadelphia, and performing as vocalist with local area bands. You are now invited to explore Earl’s World of music!

Wonderful Urban R&B/Soul album
author: Sean B. and the RadioIndy.com Reviewer Team

"I'm On My Way" is the latest album released by the talented vocalist Earl Dwayne. It is an album that features Dwayne in a variety of slick and crisp sounding Urban R&B/Soul tracks. The track, "Never Say Never" Dwayne shows off his vocal abilities in an emotionally charged slow jam. On the title track, "I’m On My Way" Dwayne keeps the tempo to a slower pace, but it’s a song delivered in a more relaxed and jubilant manner while the lyrics are tender and sincere The song, "Persuasion" lets things quicken a little bit in a lively and jumpy number with a beat reminiscent of the mid 90's west-coast sound. This album is perfect for those who enjoy Contemporary R&B/Soul with a focus on a strong male vocalist. Fans of Luther Vandros or Baby Face should definitely be open to listening to "I'm On My Way" by Earl Dwayne.

I\'ve been listening to Earl\'s CD now for about two months. I wanted to give it a good run before I gave it a review. Although Earl is clearly establishing himself in his own right, he definitely reminds me of how music used to be: solid composition, real and non-overused lyrics, and great use of vocal/music arrangements, especially the vocals. I was first reminded of O\'Bryan vocally, but with his own unique, modern, flavor brought. I can\'t wait for his next album.
