An epic album spanning two years worth of work, THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM is the perfect way to introduce Earleybird as an artist to anyone whom has yet to discover him. Featuring many up and coming artists from the Northern Virginia Area, such as Pat Paul, Revolution, King Jakob and the January 2007 Source Magazine Unsigned Hype artist Sketch, as well as seasoned veterans such as the Witchdoctor of the critically-acclaimed Dungeon Family and the underground pioneer Myka Nyne of the Freestyle Fellowship, not only is THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM a chance for Earleybird to work with some of his favorite artists, but it is a platform by which he creates his own voice and broadcasts his own experiences through hip-hop as an artist in the 21st century. The title "THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM" is a "broad philosophical statement about living in the United States in this day and age" says Earleybird, and THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM will prove to be a gem in any serious hip-hop enthusiast's collection for years to come. With production handled primarily by Hank Scorpio, a cohesive feeling of sound is exuded by the entire album. Like a meditative walk through the woods

From the minds of Earleybird and the Phoenix Foundation, two creative visionaries out of Northern VA, this album is rich with verbal gems and soothing beats. One standout track of many - "It Never Ends". Check youtube for the video to it.

A extensive journey into the mind of a HIP-HOP originator and genius
author: REVOLUTION
Two of my favorite tracks on this album are "LOVE IS THE SUM OF ALL THINGS" and "Just LIKE You" feat Witchdoctor. The album shows a unique balance of straight raw unadulterated Hip-Hop- and abstract flows. It is fresh new and inventive, I would really like to see more commercialized songs from the BIRD but in no discredit to the album it rocks, and it stretches out your brain. Owwww!

'Things Are Not What They Seem' is here!
author: J. Carter
I've been waiting awhile now, and I must say it was well worth the wait. After two years of work the Earleybird album 'Things Are Not What They Seem' is here! Featuring the Dungeon Families own Witchdoctor (Outkasts 'Aquemini, Goodie Mobs 'Still Standing') & Myka Nyne (Freestyle Fellowship) and a slew of other up-and-comers from the hip hop world, this album bumps from beginning to end. With a soaring soundtrack and lyrics that make you think while getting your head nodding, Earleybird's 'Things Are Not What They Seem' is nothing short of a classic. Five Stars!
