Earl Oliver interprets American Music. The blues of Robert Johnson and Big Bill Broonzy; jazz from artists as diverse as Fats Waller, Junior Basco and Gus Kahn; the classic western and cowboy songs of the likes of Hank Williams, Big Bob Jenkins and Jimmy Driftwood; the rockabilly favorites of Rory Orbison, Carl Perkins and others; the rhythm & blues of Fats Domino and Joe Williams; plus original jazz and blues; all wrapped up with skillful guitar accompaniment and a great big voice.
Earl's first CD release is entitled, "The Walkin' Blues Man!", and includes music by Earl, plus great songs written by his close friends, Pierre Ardans (Jr. Basco), Big Bob "Scarhand" Jenkins, Deane Juhan and Paul Smicker.
As "The Walkin' Blues Man", Earl has been a familiar figure at parades, music and art festivals, county fairs, farmers markets and other outdoor events throughout the Western States and Canada for the past 20 years, so the time seemed right to name an album after the character.
Earl currently lives in an old farm house on the Mendocino Coast with his wife and two cats. "The Walkin' Blues Man" entertains passengers on the historic Skunk Train excursion railroad, three days a week during the summer tourist season.
