easy tiger
easy tiger was born from the hard-living and enduring poverty of triumph that lived with singer/songwriters Dan Wean and Russell Baylin. After years of being embroiled within the emetic heavy handedness of the post grunge sentiments of their fellow musicians, they picked up their friend and bass player, Brian Barbier (Light FM), stuck him under their collective arm and traipsed through the mud toward self-actualization, arriving at a clean and well-lighted place.
In the process of making what was to become their debut album, Lonely in My Members Only, they were joined by Paul Knegten (Punsapaya), whose percussive and rhythmic skills are outshined only by the glory of his pyre-like headdress of red hair. The album, produced by the monstrously sweet Sean O'Keefe (Knockout, Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack), was recorded at Gravity Studios and Rosebud Recordings in Chicago, mixed at Smart Studios in Madison, and mastered by the impeccably svelte and demur Dominic Maita (Last Man On Earth; Loudon Wainwright III) at Sterling Sound in New York.
easy tiger is greasy rock folk with a country jazz complex. A mesh t-shirt of vocal harmonies float as wings upon the back of lush instrumentation that pays homage to the past while blazing trails of what could be; With each song driven by lyrical one-room in the back of the house reflections. And check out their side projects: My My My and O'Neill & Wean!

An anthology of songs this dynamic does not come together very often. Having worked with many pioneers from the Chicago music scene I would say this is reminiscent of the great indie bands of the late eighties;early nineties. Easy Tiger has a style all their own cooking in a classic rock soupkitchen with familiar tastes and flavours, serving authentic grooves and fuzzzzy warm hooky jams. kick ass on all levels. These boys wll be huge.
