"Everyting and Nothing," the debut release from the Chicago band ebb-n-flow will set you on a journey into rock diversity like rarely seen before. The disc begins with the in-your-face power of "Joy" which smartly gives way to the emotional "Red Letter Days." This track sounds as if The Who reformed and added this to the Quadrophenia soundtrack.
Singer Matthew Segedy has often been compared to a young Bono, and it is no wonder. On the tracks "Open Wide" and "Swim" I had to check the liner notes to see if in fact Bono was singing background.
Nope.
All Segedy.
The song "Rockit" reminds me a bit like Tool with off time drum pattern and over-all darkness while the touching "Time is Kind" reminds me of many sunsets I have seen in the past.
Ebb-n-flow have truly started going in the right direction.
If rock was a rollercoaster,ebb-n-flow would be the conductor.
This album will be tough for them to follow.

COULD THIS ROCK ANY MORE???

Okay... I'm a music fanatic, but this CD is simply awesome. A cross between Dave Matthews Band and R.E.M. Very soulful, and a good mix of different types of sounds.

The best thing about this CD is the fact that each song carries itself and has a life of its own. I could go on for hours about what an awesome CD it is. I've purchased a total of 6, one for me and each member of my family. JOY brings back wonderful memories for me! SWIM and PERFECTION are also my favorites.

I wore out the cd!

I listen to this cd about 5 times a day, each song sounds different each time. Each song is so layered and full of emotion - the music is like nothing I've heard! From the strong bass lines of Red Letter Days to the ass-shakin' drums of Cave and Segedy's voice is like no other. This band is awesome live, you need a fire extinguisher they're so hot. Cave is my all time favorite song, but Time Is Kind holds a special place in my heart.
