EBIN BARNETT RELEASES SOPHOMORE CD ON ATG RECORDS
"JUST AS I AM" DUE IN STORES MAY 27th 2003
Soulful rocker Ebin is set to release his highly anticipated sophomore effort, Just As I Am.
"This is my ability album that shows what I'm capable of," states Ebin. "I'm pushing all the limits here. Just As I Am is like jumping on a wild horse and going for a ride. You don't know from one track to the other what's coming up next."
Just As I Am is chock-full of melodic, hook-laden songs with catchy choruses that pull you in. But don't be fooled. While some songs are bright, positive and uplifting, others come from a deeper, darker, edgier place. Ebin has crafted a diverse collection of introspective songs that explore love, relationships and life choices. Just As I Am reveals the many layers that make up this down to earth, yet complex songwriter.
"This album definitely has a wide array of music. Every song represents an aspect of who I was when I wrote it. A lot of growing and changing took place throughout the making of this CD," admits Ebin. Which is obvious from lyrics like- I didn't know/ Should I stay or should I go/ I was happy but looks can deceive - from "Mona Lisa."
"Ebin is one of those songwriters who will be around for a long time. He truly has a gift for writing songs. It just comes so easy for him," says John Rodman, who produced two of the album's tracks; "She Moves Me" and "Who Am I."
Ebin himself produced the rest of the CD. He also plays a majority of the instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, drum programming, percussion, keyboards and even slap-pop funky bass on the upbeat, feel-good song "Feel The Love." Ebin even raps on this hip-hop tinged track.
Just As I Am is a cornucopia of music styles that incorporates rock, blues, soul, funk, R&B, jazz, pop and folk.
From the soaring, epic tone of "She Moves Me," to gate-crashing rock anthems like "Blood Brothers," and the first single, "Breakout," to the funky, R&B flavor of "Who Am I," Ebin moves flawlessly from one genre to the next, exhibiting his versatility.
Hard-edged tracks like "OK," "Feel Me" and "Ben's Song," which was written for a friend who committed suicide, give listeners the opportunity to hear Ebin go full-throttle with a hard rock grit and growl.
While lush ballads like "Mona Lisa" and the jazz flavored "Angel Of My Life," showcase his passionate vocals. "Silver Spoon" has a haunting, ethereal feel to it with Ebin singing- Late at night I howl out to the moon.
Trends come and go, but a good song can stay with you forever. Just As I Am is an extraordinary collection of songs that will stick in your head for a long time.
Ebin is now available for interviews. For more info contact his manager, Tracy Dietlin/ Mystic Avalanche Entertainment at (760) 285-2102 or mysticavalanche@prodigy.net.

"Just As He Is" is just fine!
author: Mona M. de Crinis "The Desert Post Weekly"
My musical tastes have softened considerably over the years. Once in awhile, however, I still find myself craving gutsy rock vocals and ambitious guitar licks, but I still don't want it to occupy the whole CD. "Just As I Am" offers a coupling of hard rock, blues, a little rap, and a rick baritone voice to a style that is truly unique. His voice is deep and passionate resonating with a lushness that lures the listener into a state of divine awareness. For someone so young to be so talented, versatile and filled with such depth and range surely heralds a successful music career. Don't be surprised to see Ebin Barnett staring back at you one day from the cover of the Rolling Stone! ~Mona

Ebin Barnett is a work in Progress
author: Bruce Fessier "The Desert Sun"
Singer-songwriter Ebin Barnett is a work in progress. When he performed solo June 14 at the McCallum Theatre's "Open Call," he inspired the judges to react to him like "American Idol's" Simon Cowell. Barnett has a big voice, the kind that can be heard over a lot of decibels of hard rock, which is where he thrives. His new CD, "Just As I Am," unfortunately starts with two slower, including the original ballad he sang at "Open Call," "Mona Lisa," that feature him trying too hard to overcome weak arrangements. But later, Barnett's voice soars over the roar of guitars on rockers such as "Blood Brothers" and "Breakout." We a rockin' Barnett instead of a balladeer.

Destined for success? YOU BET!
author: Rachel Parker "Desert Entertainer"
Every now and then a performer comes along that you just know is destined for sucess. Such is the case with rock singer-songwriter, Ebin Barnett. Originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Barnett moved to southern California to pursue a musical career. He wrote, produced and played almost all the instruments on the CD!!! What more do you need? He's only 21. Can you say Dave Grohl, Prince, Sting, Pete Yorn? I thought so. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD while the album cover artwork is still original and unique.
