Ebony Jackson

Good music never goes out of style. Now a new style of Soul Music has arrived to inspire all music lovers. The perfect combination, a true artistry and a dedication to expressing real emotion, is found in the music of newcomer, Ebony Jackson. Combining the soul stirring melodies of Gospel and R&B, with the driving sounds of Jazz and Hip Hop, her first offering to the musical world on the DLDD Records Label brings listeners to a place where love and good music are free and abundant.

The CD, entitled "How Can U Love Me" is a music lover's dream, jumping genres from Jazz to Ballads to Rock. Authentic Jazz is the essence of tracks like "Fine" and "Tell Me". There's also the intimate reflection of marital bliss, "Do I Do I." And the passionate, acoustic guitar-driven track, "God Says Hello," reveals a pure spirituality that is Ebony's foundation. "Its all about love and the manifestation of that love in all forms - relationships, spiritual love, a lack of love, and the search for love", says Ebony.

Growing up surrounded by the rich, soulful sounds of gospel, jazz and blues, Ebony is a true student of music that not only sounds good, but inspires. Her outstanding voice and superb original favor has many influences including Sam Cook, Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Steve Wonder, Nina Simone, and Donnie Hathaway. The mission in her music is to provide an alternative to weepy and angry songs of love, pointless lyrics, and un-inspired content, releasing healing and freeing hearts.

This 26 year old Singer/Songwriter is, "in love with music as an art form, as a presence, and as a tool for self discovery". Writing lyrics that display a wisdom and understanding beyond her years, Ebony welcomes you to lay down your burdens, tear down your walls, and let love rule. Faith, love, joy, longing, confusion, anger - the gambit of human emotion can be heard in her words. "My music is porch swing stories, and fish fry conversation. My music contains the things you want to say, but never could or would. I write to free hearts and minds. I'm interested in making more than beautiful music, I want to change perspectives."
