notes
This Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, dancer has been gracing New York with his multi-flavored art for the past 12 years. He has done everything from touring and performing in and out of the studio with musical giants like Stevie Wonder, Jon Bon Jovi, Quincy Jones, and David Bowie, topping the charts in Europe with his dance classic, "I Luv U Baby," to being the first American to lead the British percussive sensation "STOMP." He was co-writer, arranger, and star of the hit new musical, "SWING," which was Grammy- nominated for best Broadway Cast recording.
TOY-(Personal note from Everett)
This Christmas CD was inspired shortly after 9/11. In the midst of everyone searching for therapeutic ways to deal with the tragedy, Mikiodo (my designer, co-writer, and good friend) and I wrote a Christmas song called "I'm Coming Home." It pushed me to make a full length CD with maybe a few more original songs and the remainder covers of classics. Later in May of 2002, I started writing again and collaborating with some of my favorite songwriters. As I was writing, I got into a groove. The songs just kept coming. It was so interesting to write about the holiday in the middle of the summer. It made me look at Christmas in a whole new objective way. By the end of the summer, there were 15 new original Christmas songs all dressed up with my silly obsession for jazzy groove infused funky pop and a lot of attitude. It got even more interesting when artists Richie Sambora, Chris Botti, and Ann Hampton Callaway brought their gifts to the party. The icing on the cake is the spontaneous minidisc recording of my mother singing her rendition of "Amazing Grace," the only cover on the record.

Best Christmas CD there is
author: Chris SwansonOriginal and upbeat Christmas music, I'll be playing this over and over while I put up the tree. Thanks, Everett, for this gift to us. You really did some magic. . .
Yes Yes Yes to the Woman Below Me. Fun fun fun CD!
author: Toby H.It surely is "kickin' in" AND kickin' ass and it's sexy and smart and even silly at times in a fun way. 1st class all the way. Everett is an amazing singer. I saw him on Broadway AND in Stomp and he's always outstanding. And, yes, this CD SHOULD become like a chain letter thing. NYC has Everett Bradley AND Dirty Snow and we're proud of it! How much hipper is it to give someone fresh-baked NYC Christmas songs rather than the old stale chessnuts. Spread the word, cdbaby-ites. NYC has a tradition. This CD and his super sexy crazy shows! Hi Everett, wherever you are and I wanna MEET you someday and give you some of my own Christmas Sugar Cookies!

author: NatashaEvery song on this CD is in a different style, a different 'take' on Christmas, and none are anything like the candy-apple favorites that every star thinks they should do their own version of. Let them try and copy Everett! Not gonna happen. He sure 'kicks in' Christmas! Wow. Backordered at Amazon and CD-Baby... but I got my few to give to special people. I am getting the word out that everyone should introduce all their friends to it, like a chain letter (lol). Next year when it is in-stock in July I will buy them for all of my friends. No-one deserves to have to listen one minute longer to the same old songs now that Everett has made the scene. THANK YOU EVERETT!!!!!
a nice change from the usual holiday music
author: n.haleyglad I ordered it and have it to listen too...wish I knew about it sooner.
Loads of creativity
author: Jim W. (Mr. Jimette)This is quite a feat, all original holiday songs. Great arrangements and variety. I may be a little too jaded to love some of the why-can't-we-all-just-get-along lyrics, but consistently enjoyed the committed performances from Everett. I bought a second copy for my friend Jill (we were both at Indiana with Everett), and it was the hit of her Christmas party. Well done.
Not fair! Why didn't I hear this earlier?
author: Peter B., Brooklyn, NYWhy didn't I hear this a week ago when I was buying Christmas presents?? Not fair! I have so many friends who are Christmas music addicts (good ones and kitschy ones) and this is one of the good ones I would have liked to purchase. Oh well, next year. Can't they just cut "Then" into the "Rudolph" Christmas special one year and freak everybody out? Cool CD.
This Xmas Cd kicks butt!!!
author: DaleI LOVE this CD!! It's about time a new Christmas Collection was fresh & new!!! Do yourself a favor and kick back with what is now a "staple" in my collection! Move over Doris Day and Olivia!!! :-) First rate all around.....it's sexy too (which don't hurt!)
Xmas into Christmas
author: Jeannie A."Xmas into Christmas" is really cool. So is the rest of the CD. Good work Everett!
No tired old chessnuts roasting here
author: Ted TLoved the CD. Ambitious to write 15 new Christmas songs. Not an easy thing (I know cause I tried to write/bake a few once and they all came out all gooey.) Sorry to disagree with Sara above, but I liked the "Sugar Cookie" duet...hey, if we can't have Ray and Betty anymore, I'll take Everett and Ann (and I saw them in "Swing" and thought it was great...not too "cutesy"!) Absolutely loved the crazy east village trajectory of "Christmas Kicking In" (since I get off at the Union Square Station everyday from work! ). It's nice to have our very own New York City Christmas song! That and "Xmas into Christmas", "Simple Wish" "Then" "Toy" and "MIstletoe All Over" and "I'm Coming Home" move me the most. And loved that his Mom is on the end of the CD.There's some frosting kind of songs that are a blast, especially "Say CHeese" and "Sugar Cookies". I found "All Year Long" too sappy, but it's my wife's favorite, so there you go. And my daughter loves "Sugar Cookies" best...not sure if she picks up on all the double entendes or not (she's 5). So I guess if I was a marketing guy, I'd say, "a great CD for the whole family!" But that's not to imply it's bland or "disneyfied". I think Everett lives close by to me, cause I've seen him on the street a few times, so I hope to, if I do run into him, congratulate him in person for giving my whole family at long last a new Christmas cd that we can all love (it's right there in rotation with "Charlie Brown Christmas" "Emmylou Harris' Christmas CD" and "Stevie Wonders'"...and "Take 6" as well).
Best Christmas CD of the Year By Far
author: Sarah LeiberI stumbled on this CD and performer by accident at the Cutting Room last week (because I was there to see someone else on the wrong day! Sorry Ben!). I had seen "Swing" which I wasn't that crazy about (too cutesy), and did remember Everett from that show, but he was so much cooler with his live band. The sound wasn't great at the Cutting Room, but the songs and his energy were trully incredible. It did inspire me to buy the CD that night, and it blew me out of the water right away. The first song "This Christmas Kicking In" is just a blast of beautiful crazy energy and I listened to it over and over again before I even went further in the CD.There's a part of that song, about God and life towards the end that is just transcendent. After that the cool work didn't let up much and Everett's voice is just about my favorite now in the world (or close!). He is a great songwriter and I can't wait to hear his non-Christmas stuff. Every song had something going for it, and actually, the only ones that didn't kill me that much were the duets, with his Swing co-star and also the Funky Santa thing. Dirty Snow grew on me after awhile. Everything else is the best Christmas CD i"ve heard in ages. I bought the CD at the show, but I'm recommending it to all my friends on this site. (Unless there's somewhere they can still get it for 10.00!) Great work.
