Best I've heard in years form start to Finish

I generally look into new releases for bands that I do not know and with album covers that I enjoy. I saw the cover for this band, Echo and Drake and had to listen. The title itself, Sundrenched Elsewhere grabbed my attention as well. After hearing 1 minute of the first track, Airport, I knew that this was going to be a great album.
Airport - after looking into it, this is the first album from this band. What an OPENER! A hint of Fleetwood Mac guitar sound in the song along with a sound that I thought was lost. The song has few lyrics, but it the guitars drive this song and the break down is amazing. The singers voice reminds me of Tom Yorke of Radiohead. But, you can actually understand what he is saying unlike Tom and the annunciation is there unlike Tom. Great song... must listen
Morning Dove - if you think the album is going to be laid back after 1 song, then you are wrong. There is a hint of The Cure in this song with the guitars. It is a fast pace song with killer rifts and a lot of distortion. The drums in this song is what makes it and again, great vocals from the singer. This song keeps you wanting more.
Mad Hatter - this is where I fell out of my seat. The lyrics and structure of the song blew me away. This is a happy go lucky song with not so happy lyrics. The acoustics for this song sound crisp and refreshing. The end of the song is what threw me and amazed me. After such a great song it turns into a Radiohead sort of song for the last 20 or so seconds. I did not see that coming! You must hear this song. I cannot wait to blast this!
Lights Out - just when you think you know how this album is going this comes on. This is rock meets dance music, but in a good way. The tone of the song is set early and it never loses it. If you want to hear more awesome guitar rifts and a bass line to die for, then listen to this song. When these guys play next I will try to make it and I will be chanting for this song.
Letter to Olivia - all I have to say is 90s. If you like 90s music then you will love this. That is all I have to say. I love this song. It sounds simple, to the point and reminds me of what music was like in the 90s.
My Darling Aries - shocked at this song. I thought my ears were tricking me, but this is another sound this band has. It starts off slow and the singers voice has a lot of reverb on it, which I love. Then out of nowhere a 60s guitar sound comes in and all I think of is surf music. However, this sounds like surf music that is disturbed and will haunt you. Incredible sound, good lyrics and the end of the song will leave you wanting more.
Buy Time - slow song with a U2 sound. The band displays it's talents with this song. The line that got me was "If I had your kind of money I would buy time." Great line, great song and it really displays the singers vocals. Such a pretty song as well, and yes I said pretty!
Sundrenched Elsewhere - By this point I thought I knew what the album was. I was wrong. This song is not like anything else on the CD. It is Radiohead (Kid A and on) meets Death Cab. Fake drum beat, but cool song. I feel like I am at a club hearing this one, but it is still rock music. Listen to this song from start to finish. There are a ton of surprises in it. Very upbeat song and again, the vocals are killer.
The Woods - if I though Airport had a 70s rock feel, then this song was made for the 70s and now. The song has a great feel and the bass is what makes this song. The bass dominates the song at times while the vocals make you feel like you are in a cathedral. The guitar solo at the end displays the talent that this band has. Just listen to it and your jaw will drop. I have not heard this sound in a long time.
Bright New Machine - great vocals here. The song is about someone parking in your spot and we all know how that feels! To this point I had no heard a bad song and I can say that it still holds true. This song is amazing from start to finish. The break down is great and when the band comes in it hits you like a bat in the face.
Pioneers - stomping song and my favorite song drum wise. The lyrics are unusual in a good way, This song reminds me of a Doves tune. Great track that people should hear.
Skyscraper Suicide - WOW. Not sure what to say. Slow song that builds for 4 minutes till the end when the band comes in, and not even the entire band. This song was made to close out an album and a gig. The singer's voice really get so to you in this and you can feel the emotion in his voice.
I love this album and cannot believe that I found it; there is not a bad song on the album.

Amazing Album!
author: Nickey D
By far the best album I've listened to in a long time. Creative lyrics, beautiful singing, cool beats and strumming... it's like taking a little bit of all my favorite artists and finding it all in one place. I would highly recommend this album. There's not a bad song on it - in fact, it's difficult to decide which one is my favorite. Very talented group and look forward to hearing more from them.
