Album Notes

Who Are the Echoes of Harmony?

The Echoes of Harmony come from a strong family background were morals, compassion and righteous living is commonplace in the home. They are three sisters with a gift from God to sing like angels. The Echoes, as they are affectionately referred to, have taken every opportunity to pursue their interest in music - including writing their own songs.

Tyronda, the oldest of the three, sang with the Greenville Choral Society Children’s Choir for four years. While in high school she was selected to sing with the Festival 2000 Choir at Carnegie Hall under the direction of the late Moses Hogan. As a current member of the Morgan State University Choir she was among those selected to sing background with Richard Smallwood, a gospel recording artist. Most recently Tyronda traveled to Russia with the Morgan State University Choir to sing at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Concert Hall under the direction of Maestro Yuri Temirkano.

Shanika and Tanika are twins, but make no mistake they have their own distinct style. Shanika, a born leader, is interested in becoming a renowned choral director. She has a wide vocal range but sings a perfect tenor pitch in the group. Shanika also sang with the Greenville Choral Society Children’s Choir. Currently Shanika directs her high school gospel choir. She also sings with the high school Choral Choir, Ensemble, and is a consistent participant in Music of the Night, a celebration of Broadway music. Shanika is eclectic in her music tastes but is drawn to the old school sound of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.

Tanika, small in stature, sings soprano. People are always amazed at the big vocal sound that comes forth when Tanika opens here mouth to sing. She too sang with the Greenville Choral Society Children’s Choir. Tanika is lively, determined, and courageous. She enjoys singing but her passion is fashion design. We are convinced she will become well-known for both her singing and her designs.

Thank You
The Echoes have learned that the good, bad, and ugly of life happen and it has no respect of person or age barriers. The one fact that remains constant is that when you trust God for your life He will preserve you. We believe that God gave us the gift of song to help us make it through the rough spots. For this reason, among so many others, we thank God for our gift. We honor and glorify Him for all his wondrous works in our lives. We respect and understand that it is only by His grace and mercy we have come this far. For this we give special thanks to our 92 year old granny, Eleanor Murray. She is a prayer warrior who keeps the family before God. Thanks Granny for sending up timber; for keeping the faith; for standing on the promises of God; and for never letting us forget where our help comes from.

We would not be here if it were not for so many people who helped us along the way. Thanks to all of our aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the lot for all your encouragement, patience, and your belief in us. Uncle Lenny thanks for the introduction to our producers, Lindsay Addison and Rudy Armstead and for driving us to and from the studio in Pennsylvania. Lindsay and Rudy, what can we say. You have been an inspiration to the Echoes of Harmony. From the very beginning you believed in us. We came to you with songs and the ability to sing. You gave us the music that breathed life into our songs making our dreams a reality. Please know that when we say Thank You we mean it in a big way.

Last but by no means least our parents, Leon and Evelyn Marshall. The English language does not hold within its boundaries enough words to thank you for all you’ve done for us. Not only have you been exceptional parents, you’ve been our biggest fans. The amount of time, prayer, sacrifice, and heartache that you’ve unconditionally given puts us at awe. Your love for us, first as individuals, then as a group, will always be unmatched by anything we will every experience. The sleepless nights, the constant travel, the financial strain, the battles fought on our behalf coupled with the discipline and lessons of faith is the essences of every song we sing. Please know that we not only speak of what you’ve unselfishly given toward making this CD, but we speak also of those earlier sacrifices that need not be mentioned here- those are the ties bind us together. We are and will remain forever grateful for having you as parents.
