ECKROTH&LAMOTHE 6 CD :GOING SOMEWHERE
Mike Eckroth and Franklin Lamothe met briefly in la havana,
Cuba during 1990s and were reunited when Lamothe emigrated to the USA fron his former home in Denamark and ended up in las vegas in 2005 . Lamothe had studied at Cuba s famed
ENA school and later move to europe to pursue his career
playing both Latin and comercial music ,before settling finally in the USA Eckroth had spent the previous few years finishing up a master s Degree at UNLV.....and working profesionally in vegas area , and during 2005 the two work side by side in several of the city s latin groups.
The idea of the sextet project came to be when drummer Hilario Bell came to town for a few weeks whith a cuban show, later the same year he returned to record bringing whith him compatriot and Rubalcaba bassist Armando Gola.
the group added horn men Mike Gonzales and Phil Wigfall and went into mo-sound studios at the end of octuber of 2005 to record an album co-led and conceptualized by Eckroth and Lamothe.
Now hope to bring the project to audiences around the world and to continue to do more recording.
