Album Notes

This is Eclipse’s debut album featuring a full band of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards with guest musicians on vocals, saxophones and tabla.

What sort of music is it? Jazz, folk, rock, pop? Well, none of these and yet there are elements of them all. The album features memorable melodies, thought-provoking lyrics and intricate instrumentals with a melancholic undertone throughout.

Martin Bilney’s brilliant piano playing underscores the whole album. Merv Northwood’s lead guitar playing ranges from subtle to Pink Floyd-like soloing. Pete Oliver’s tight drumming and Will Cruttenden’s inventive fretless bass playing form the powerful rhythm section. Vocals are shared between Will and Mike Davies and guest musicians include Gary Good and Tom Richards on saxophones and Sirishkumar on tabla. Russ Kilmister’s acoustic guitar playing adds the final element to this collection of his original songs.
