Album Notes

eclosion
Songs about cutting or scarring are not in the mainstream. But they do leave an impression. That is just some of what you could expect to hear about in this new collection of songs from a new artist calling himself eclosion, aka, Gabriel Ayala, and his self-titled debut album.

The sound is industrial rock, angst-driven guitars, electronics, synth line melodies and textures reminiscent of Nine Inch Nails and Gary Numan. Grounded in strong roots, inspired by J. Cash, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails and Portieshead, the album appeals to both alternative rock and industrial fans.

The core of the album is the sound design and musicianship of Gabriel Ayala, recording, performing and producing

Eclosion, the name Gabriel has taken on, is defined as : (French) to hatch or open, and (in entomological terms), the emergence of an adult insect from its pupal casing. The term is well suited to this Los angeles native, embodying his growth as an artist, and as a person engaged with the world . Eclosion deals with a past locked away, and emotions always “dealt with later.” It is now later, and Gabriel delivers an honest and passionate album that we can all relate to.
