Ed Acquesta is a jazz guitarist and singer/songwriter currently working in the Atlanta area.
Bluella is his first CD featuring mostly original compositions and songs. The CD was created with a story line in mind and all of the tunes on the CD are organized around a woman named "Bluella". Think of it as a "jazz opera". Ed explains, "I had just finished doing a rather long gig with the avant garde theatre company, Archipelago, and thought it would be great to write a musical in the jazz context. I wanted to leave enough space so the listener could take the story in many different directions....they could actually improvise on the dramatic theme."
Bluella contains plenty of guitar improvisation, some vocals and even a hidden track with an unusual twist.
Ed teachers guitar workshops at Dreamcatcher Guitars in Atlanta and plays gigs in the Atanta metro area.
