This is a love song that represents two distinct music styles of music; one from South America, the romantic acoustic sound of Latin Jazz, and another from North America, featuring the soulful rhythms of Motown.
This is a true story is about two students, one from North America & and another from South America. The song represents both music styles and the lyrics describe how they met, and how their relationship eventually advanced to the stage of "Mr. & Mrs." Mrs," that's how Love Happened!
Eddie GM / A Brief Bio:
As a kid growing up in Motown, Eddie GM / Ed Robinson learned various types of music, including Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Classical and R& B. At the age of 6, Little Eddie was official pianist for church services. At 7 he was accepted as a student of Classical music at Detroit’s renowned Michigan Conservatory of Music.
Around the age of 11, Eddie recorded his first professional recording session with Motown’s legendary, original “Funk Brothers,” James Jameson - Bass, Uriel Jones-Drums, Eddie Willis –Guitar, Robert White -Guitar and Eddie Robinson- singer-songwriter/piano. This was the same team of musicians heard on recordings by Motown artists Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & the Supremes, Martha & the Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Temptations and so on.
As Eddie’s professional studio experience expanded as he recorded with legendary musicians such as New York City (the David Letterman Band) and legendary producers and arrangers, Orin Keepnews ( Jazz producer of Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk,…) and the late Arif Mardin (R& B and Jazz producer of Wilson Picket, Aretha Franklin, Chaka khan, etc.) Great saxophonist, King Curtis (sax), Chuck Rainey (Bass), Bernard “Pretty” Purdie (organ), Ralph McDonald (percussion), and Cornell Dupree (guitar), were legendary musicians with which Eddie recorded, who represented the east coast “Atlantic Sound.’ These were the studio musicians who recorded with such artists as, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack.
After spending a number of years abroad, Eddie GM returned to home to “catch up” on writing producing and arranging new record projects. As a composer, Ed's music has been featured on a number of television programs (MTV’s Road Show, Real People, Bonanza, Dancing With the Stars, etc.). Beyoncé & Destiny’s Child, MC Hammer, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Sonny J, Marvin Gaye, are names of a few artists who have recorded music composed by Eddie (Robinson) Gm.
