Album Notes

Eddy Harrison has been singing and writing cowboy and gospel music for 50 years. I gave my heart to Jesus at a little country church revival when I was only seven years old. I loved to listen to all those old gospel songs and sing along and it is still my very favorite thing to do. This album is a collection of 50 years of performing and writing Gospel music. I wrote 2 of the songs on this album. I recorded with the Great Stuart Hamblen and have included 2 of his songs It Is No Secret and Ole Pappy's New Banjo on this album, along with Stuart K Hine's How Great Thou Art, Kristofferson's Why Me Lord? and Thomas Dorsey's Peace In the Valley. This gospel album is simple! No bells or whistles! Just Eddy and his guitar for the most part. Getting some banjo, harmonica and fiddle backup on a couple of the songs. As I have always said, there is no place to hide on an album like this. It's just you and your talent. Eddy pulls it off magnificently! The tone is set with the first cut "JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE" followed by other great efforts like "WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN", "THE MASTER'S CALL", "TOUCH OF THE MASTERS HAND" and "AMAZING GRACE". There's a poem "THE COWBOYS PRAYER" written by Badger Clark and two original songs of Eddy's "PAINT ME A PORTRAIT OF GOD" and "I BELIEVE THAT JESUS CAN".
