"Sometimes I look in the mirror and say Who Am I?
Sometimes I'm sure and strong; other times I completely lose myself. I used to wonder...is everyone like this?
I never quite had the answer.
I do know that I love to sing and write songs and want to share my enthusiasm as much as I can. I meet lots of people. We exchange views and ideas, we laugh, we cry, we help each other out. Some become good friends and others become good memories.
Soon enough I realized the important thing is to give......then receiving will follow. I'm always thankful that I am doing what I love the most. Even though I continuously pursue high standards for my career, I've learned to stop and smell the roses. The best things in life are often easy to acquire. BE POSITIVE!
There are still times when I look in the mirror and
say "Who Am I"? But now I know.......We're all the same."
Pounding the beat as the drummer of his soon to be nationally dominant rock act 'The Tom's River Band', Edgar bided his time on the crest of a Record deal with Zoo/BMG in 1994. Aware of the nature of 'the beast' and its tendency to swell up and drown even the most confident and talented musicians, Edgar hoped for the best and prepared for the worst.
...And so the record gods showed no mercy on yet another group of hopeful lads and at the end of that year, the deal was gone and so was their' hope and faith.
And so Edgar being one step ahead, watching his band crash and burn, was already playing an acoustic guitar and pouring out his soul in song. From trips to NYC to take on vocal lessons and open mics to minimum wage jobs and using his favors for shelter, he eventually got back on his feet and became a self sufficient entity ready to yet again fight the good fight. But this time under his terms and compromises.
Adversity, persistence and optimism are at the very core of his soul. It illuminates through his personality and his music.
Currently He is the driving force and image of his popular 'cover' duo in which he maintains a full time living as a professional singer. Performing at bars, restaurants, private affairs and concerts for the past 7 years, he has accumulated more than 1,930 shows!
With Edgar's extensive experience of live venues, he is currently paving a smooth effortless road into his original music performances. Naturally dynamic and full of emotion he instantaneously connects with his audience.
He has created and hosts an original music night in Carlstadt, NJ. A State predominately known for its 'cover' music scene, 'Songwriter Tuesdays' mission is to showcase, promote and create a big buzz in a small town. Every Tuesday features two new acts along with performances by Edgar and his co-host Josh Rifkin. In just over 27 weeks the night is steadily tracking record attendances and features artists from the tri-state area.
Bud Light Inc. recently purchased an original jingle/song written by Marc Battaglia and Edgar. The song continues to air on major radio network commercials nation wide. Their combined talents have opened the doors to the great opportunities that Marc's production studio is now involved with.
Edgar has also created a children's project entitled 'Harvey the Cow' and is pending publishing.
Keeping an open mind and open heart in every facet of the creative music business, Edgar is ready and prepared for success in whatever shape or form it may come.

Universal appeal!

Edgar's music is a mix of classic rock, modern blues and folk. His vocal style has been compared to John Cougar and Elvis Costello. He sings with emotion and integrity. Edgar writes honest, poetic reflective lyrics about a variety of topics such as poverty, empathy, heartbreak and love. Despite his serious subject matters his music has an optimistic tone that is persistent throughout all sixteen tracks on the two CD set. On Disk One, I thought 'In a Carnival' was a powerful tribute to Edgar's older brother. The song captures the aura and festive tone of a carnival but is addressing loss, emotions and family reactions. This song is a brilliant blend of high instrumentation and low emotions, thus demonstrating Edgar's unique ability to blend optimism with spirited true storytelling. On disk Two I liked the upbeat playful vibe of 'Whole World Waiting' an inspiring anthem to rise above bad circumstances and finding a goal to strive and achieve. Spirited instrumentation and expressive guitars complete the package. 'Alien' is another emotionally inspiriting track about divine inspiration and living life to the fullest. This track is another prime example of the hope and confidence that Edgar conveys through his art. Songs for the World I and II is the ideal title for Edgar's songs, which have universal appeal!

I have been listening to Edgar's music for 2 years now. All his CD's are very spiritual and emotional. You can tell he puts his heart and soul into every song he writes and sings. The best part of Edgar's songs is that everyone can relate to something from their own lives. He makes music very real. Everyone can enjoy these CD's. His music is not just for adults, my 10 year old daughter and I fight over the CD's. It is very refreshing to hear music that I can have in common with my children.
If you ever see Edgar perform music, you will see why his music will be a success. You see him put every ounce of himself into every song he sings.
I recommend you listen to these songs and you tell me if they don't touch you in one way or another.
