Ridiculously catchy songs that really stay with you!

Remember when "pop" wasn't a dirty word? This band seems to, and isn't shy about it. A curious blend of influences - sometimes these guys sound like a country band, other times like Foo Fighters - but it all works. There's some very clever wordplay in the lyrics; one line that caught my ears was from the song "Love is smarter than you" that says, "like a computer to grandmaster, you're the deepest blue ever been" which I can only assume is a refernce to Gary Kasparov playing chess against the IBM computer, "Deep Blue". Nicely obtuse. The harmonies are full and crisp, and the arrangements are creative. If you like Petty, Hiatt,Steve Earle, Wilco, Spoon, the Replacements or XTC, this is your kind of stuff.
