UPDATE!!!!
Millennium Guitar was just reviewed in the highly respected magazine, 20th Century Guitar. Here's what they had to say:
"One of the most breathtaking albums of solo guitar performance in recent memory...Schaum demonstrates a unique flair for interpreting a wealth of classical guitar music composed by masters such as Albeniz, Segovia and Sor, as well as living guitar legends such as Hackett and Howe. It's also worth noting how well the CD was recorded."
With Millennium Guitar, Ed explores some of the most beautiful music ever created for the guitar.
The album includes selections from some of the greatest classical composers and arrangers, including:
* Isaac Albeniz
* Andres Segovia
* Francisco Tarrega
* Enrique Granados
* Fernando Sor
* Steve Howe
* ...and more!
Subtle grace and emotion combined with stunning technical abilities bring each track to life.
Whether you're listening to Ed's rendition of the Segovia tour de force Asturias, or if you're drifting away on Mood For a Day, the Steve Howe classic that floats from Ed's fingers, this is a MUST HAVE album.
Millennium Guitar was named a Major Album of 2000 by European Progressive Rock Review
Reviews -
This is a totally mesmerizing experience, the guitar playing is faultless, breath taking and quite emotionally charged.One can only be inspired by the music and guitar skills involved on this album. This is an highly accomplished piece of work made all the better by the razor sharp recording. Excellent, yes a Major Album of 2000
European Progressive Rock Review
Each piece is masterfully played. Technical production and recording quality of the compact disc is superb.The highlights of the album were the Steve Howe-based arrangements and compositions which were played flawlessly and with a flowing technique. The stark setting of pure acoustic guitar works quite well. Its excellent guitar work should be studied further - a nice listen!.
Musical Discoveries
Ed Schaum's classical guitar performance is fluid and precise. The debut solo album features several well-known favorites by Vivaldi, Segovia and Mozart, as well as many unique pieces by Steve Howe, one of Ed's more modern influences. All of the pieces featured are fantastic, combining true talent with subtle zest.
Riffage.com
Aspiring guitar singers should give this new age/classical crossover a listen for a lesson in dynamics... the recording quality is good and the guitar playing is jaw dropping.
AudioGalaxy
Highly skilled guitarist who seems, at the moment, content to interpret the work of others -- most notably, Steve Howe and Andres Segovia. Able, textured playing expresses Schaum's voice without compromising the integrity of the originals.

This is a Fantastic CD! One of the best classical guitar CDs I've heard in a long time. The production is excellent and Ed's technical abilities are among the best. His versions of Hackett's "Blood on the Rooftops" and Howe's "Mood for a Day" are beautiful. For me, the real standout on the CD is the Steve Howe arrangement of Vivaldi's "Concerto in D." On the cover of the CD is says "volume 1" ---I anxiously await volume 2!
