Album Notes

This mostly instrumental piano music was born out of a continuing research into music that promotes: well-being, a connective plasma for dwelling and for generative inner process, and being with the still and quiet places in oneself along with invigorating, inspiring, and enlivening new search and discovery.

The catalyst of this music’s appearance came from compositions commissioned by friends and people I have met on my way, for some special occasion in their lives. It is a rich experience to try to clothe the special stations of a life’s journey with music. It is my hope that these ceremonial expressions may be a useful accompaniment to your moments now and into the future. Enjoy!

Aud Wilken's special gem to '12 Beats Per Minute'

Aud Wilken, Danish singer-songwriter, contributed her musical talents to this mostly instrumental piano cd, not only with her beautiful singing, but with guitar, percussion, and music arrangements. Aud wrote and recorded this amazing demo, entitled, 'Knowing That It's There'. I was so moved by this song, that we re-recorded it with piano accompaniment and she agreed to let me release it on this cd, '12 Beats Per Minute'. What a gem!

Robert M. Sutton, writer for 'All-About-Jazz', says: 'Keyboards as a Paintbrush'. Read the full review at: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=33038

Uplifted!

Just received '12 Beats' . It's hard to put into words how uplifted and delighted I feel hearing your compositions. I feel too happy to cry and yet I feel like crying with just plain wonderful emotions. The compositions are generous in their power to transport me to a higher place while allowing me to feel grateful for the present at the same time. Many, many more blessings to you, and with an open heart, Bonnie Tusca - Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

I'll tell you what, being 39 years old, the radio has nothing for me anymore. I end up listening to talk or sports radio most of the time. Music to me got stale, repetitive and basically boring. Then, like perfect timing, my good friend from childhood opens my mind to a whole new world of music. Simple, back to classic piano musical roots. This CD is testament to Ed's creative and artistic mind. It keeps the listener wanting more, and all the while uplifting the emotions. Wonderful, and highly recommended. It has brought me back to a place where I'd thought was gone forever. The simple act of listening to someone's work of art was something I have taken for granted for too long. Good stuff I say, good stuff.
