notes

This latest release from underground electronica artist Efofex is regarded by some as the long awaited follow-up to his debut release "Proof" from 1998 (currently out of print).

The elusive keyboardist/synthesist quietly "working the controls" behind the Efofex persona is known in the real world as John Talbert and has actually been quietly producing electronic music behind the scenes for more than a decade.

But in the brief period of time he has decided to take the music "public," Efofex has already become internationally notorious for his intimate, moody, and "from-the-heart" approach to electronic music production.

In signature Efofex works thus far, melodies are often created with quite non standard timbres (the melody on the opening track on Stress is said to have been created using the sound of a dentist's drill!) while rhythmic undulations run the gamut from hardcore funky to silky smooth and every flavor in between.

All the while, all sorts of swirling synthetic worlds twist and develop in the background.

So what does the Stress CD itself sound like? In Mr. Talbert's own words: "...[Stress] attempts to express in common Efofex language...how real life might be experienced for many of us. For instance, things are fine, even rather pleasant...yet at times minor annoyances creep up that 'stress' us out, so to speak - until things [finally] reach a feverish pitch. And just as things appear to be at their worst, the storm subsides and life is magically once again restored to normal."

If that isn't solid proof of the moody nature of Efofex's work, then what is?

its surprising for its warm sound, even if the genre is something we've heard a lot, its still very approachable, talks to your heart, simple but true ! go & feel for yourself
